NAU Men Bump Up To No. 13; Big Sky T&F Calendar Heats Up With Multiple High-Caliber Meets

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 9, 2023) – As the calendar creeps closer and closer to championship season, Big Sky Conference men’s and women’s track and field teams will be back in action this weekend in hopes of improving their placement both in the league and nationally.  

News & Notes
  • The Northern Arizona University men’s track and field team will enter this weekend of competition as the No. 13 team in the entire nation, moving up two spots from their No. 15 slot a week ago.
  • NAU’s men are the No. 3-ranked team in the NCAA Mountain Region and projected No. 1 in the Big Sky Conference.
  • Montana State is ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Mountain Region, checking in as the second-highest ranked men’s team.
  • In the women’s rankings, Northern Arizona is No. 6 in the NCAA Mountain Region, slotted just ahead of the University of Utah. The ‘Jacks are also projected to be the top team in the Big Sky.
  • NAU’s Drew Bosley remains the top-ranked men’s athlete in the 3K, breaking the collegiate record earlier this season with a 7:36.42. Bosley, along with Nico Young, also rank fourth and fifth respectively in the men’s 5K.
  • Montana State’s Duncan Hamilton ranks fifth in the NCAA for the men’s 3K as well, with a mark of 7:43.28.
  • Northern Colorado’s Jerome Campbell ranks 11th in the NCAA in the men’s 60-meter hurdles with a 7.70.
  • In the women’s high jump, Montana State’s Lucy Corbett has maintained her top-10 position, sitting at ninth nationally with a 1.85m she set at the Bobcat Preview early in the season.

The 2023 Big Sky Conference Championships will take place in Moscow, Idaho, at the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center from February 23-25.
