Hat Trick Effort Highlights Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week

Against Eastern Washington, Tuite scored three goals on six shots, four of which were on goal

FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 24, 2023) – For the final time this season, the Big Sky Conference office has announced its Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, which this week were split between Northern Colorado and Montana.
 
Offensive Player of the Week:  Lexi Tuite, Northern Colorado
 
Navigating her team to their first victory of the season with a hat trick, Northern Colorado’s Lexi Tutie has been named Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Against Eastern Washington, Tuite scored three goals on six shots, four of which were on goal.
 
Tuite is the first Bear in the Division I era with a hat trick and one of 13 freshmen in the country with a one this season.

Defensive Player of the Week: Ashlyn Dvorak, Montana
 
After picking up her 10th and 11th shoutout of the season, all while leading to a regular season title, Montana’s Ashlyn Dvorak has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.
 
She made 11 saves while facing 21 shots.
 
On Thursday, the Grizzlies secured the Big Sky regular season title and the No. 1 overall seed in the conference tournament.

2023 Championship Information
 
The 2023 Big Sky Soccer Championships will be hosted on Nov. 1, 3, and 5 on the campus of the Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. The top six teams in the conference regular season standings advance to the championship.
 
The winner of the championship receives the Big Sky’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Flagstaff will serve as the host city for the first time since 2010 when the Lumberjacks won the regular season championship. The host institution hasn’t won the postseason tournament since 2019 when Northern Colorado won on their home grass.
