Idaho Tabbed to Win 2023 Big Sky Men's Tennis Title

Idaho, who finished the year 13-11 overall and 7-1 in league play last season, will be seeking its first back-to-back championship run since winning the Big Sky tourney crowns in 2017 and 2018.

FARMINGTON, Utah (Jan. 10, 2023) - After winning the Big Sky tournament title last season, the Idaho Vandals were picked to win it all once again by league head coaches in Tuesday's 2023 Big Sky Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches, who could not vote for their own team. 

Idaho, who finished the year 13-11 overall and 7-1 in league play last season, will be seeking its first back-to-back championship run since winning the Big Sky tourney crowns in 2017 and 2018. Overall, the Vandals have won the league's title on the men's side four times since 2015. 

The Vandals received 64 points in Tuesday's coaches' poll, while earning eight first-place votes. Northern Arizona and Sacramento State tied of second place in the poll with 53 points, while the Lumberjacks received the only first-place vote outside of the Vandals. 

The 2023 Big Sky Conference Men’s Tennis Championship will take place April 27-29 in Phoenix, Arizona. The single-elimination tournament will feature six teams, with the top two seeds receiving a bye into the semifinal round. The winner of the championship will receive the Big Sky's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.
