Big Sky Announces 2022-23 Winter All-Academic Team

Nearly 500 student-athletes were placed on the All-Academic Team while representing Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball

FARMINGTON, Utah (May 31, 2023) – The Big Sky Conference office announced its 2022-23 Winter All-Academic Team honoring nearly 500 student-athletes for their excellence academically and athletically.

"I want to congratulate the outstanding work of the nearly 500 student-athletes who qualified for our Winter All-Academic Team," Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "Achieving this honor not only shows the high level of dedication each of our student-athletes have to succeeding on their fields of competition, but also their commitment to excelling in the classroom. I also want to thank our coaches, support staffs and campus leaders around the Big Sky Conference for continuing to create environments that promote academic excellence.”

In total, 496 student-athletes were placed on the All-Academic Team, with 78 of those honorees earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution. 
 
For indoor track only: student-athlete may participate in at least half of the team’s competitions or the conference championship.
