FARMINGTON, Utah (September 6, 2022) – Following the opening weekend of the season, the Big Sky Conference office has announced the first winners of its regular Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week awards.
This week, the awards went to Drew Bosley of Northern Arizona and Tatum Miller of Portland State
Men’s XC Athlete of the Week – Drew Bosley, Northern Arizona
Leading his team to a perfect score at NAU’s George Kyte Classic, Bosley earned the nod as the league’s Men’s XC Athlete of the Week.
He finished the 4.5 mile course in 22:09.1 to pace the ‘Jacks, who finished in the top seven spots in the field. They won the meet as a team with just 15 points.
The D1 field at the meet featured 34 runners, but the total field included 118 competitors.
Bosley is the defending Big Sky individual champion.

Women’s XC Athlete of the Week – Tatum Miller, Portland State
Becoming the first Viking in the history of the program to win the team’s home meet, Miller claimed an individual victory at the Viking Rust Buster last Friday with a 17:51.5 en route to being named Women’s XC Athlete of the Week.
Her placement also helped PSU claim the team crown, another first for them at their home event.
