Chambers, Chachere Highlight #BigSkyFB Player of the Week Honors

Sean Chambers (Montana State) and Dante Chachere (Portland State) shared offensive honors after the pair tallied over 400 yards of total offense and five touchdowns each this past Saturday

FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 3, 2022) - Sean Chambers (Montana State) and Dante Chachere (Portland State) shared offensive honors after the pair tallied over 400 yards of total offense and five touchdowns each this past Saturday to highlight the league's Big Sky Football Players of the Week, presented by Cloverdale Plumbing. Armon Bailey (Sacramento State) and Patrick Rohrbach (Montana) also earned weekly honors on defense and special teams to round out Monday's awards.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week - Sean Chambers (Montana State)/Dante Chachere (Portland State)
In his first start as a Bobcat, quarterback Sean Chambers racked up over 400 yards of total offense and five touchdowns to lead Montana State to a 41-24 victory over UC Davis on ESPNU. Chambers did most of his damage on the ground, with 203 yards rushing and three touchdowns that included a 78-yard sprint for the game's first score. Chambers leads the Big Sky in rushing yards per game and rushing touchdowns, with his 12 scores on the ground also topping the FCS.

Dante Chachere had a breakout game this past Saturday, as the Portland State quarterback amassed over 400 yards of total offense and five touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a 34-27 win over Northern Arizona. The sophomore passed for 274 yards and three touchdowns, while earning 128 yards rushing and two scores to closeout his day. 

Defensive Player of the Week - Armon Bailey (Sacramento State)

Armon Bailey had another big performance this past Saturday, as the Sacramento State Hornet won defensive honors for the second-straight week. Bailey posted nine tackles, one for loss, a sack, pass breakup and QB hurry in the 49-21 win over Cal Poly this past weekend. Bailey currently tops the Hornets with 25 tackles in just four games, as the senior linebacker has been one of the leaders on defense.

Special Teams Player of the Week - Patrick Rohrbach (Montana)
Patrick Rohrbach had four punts for 211 yards in Montana's 28-20 win at Idaho State this past weekend. The freshman punter averaged 52.8 yards per attempt, with a long of 68 yards on the day. The 52.8 average and long of 68 are both highs in the Big Sky so far this season. Rohrbach has earned a 44.1 punt average in 2022, which tops the Big Sky and ranks 10th in the FCS.
