FARMINGTON, Utah (Sept. 26, 2022) - Robby Hauck (Montana) and Armon Bailey (Sacramento State) shared defensive honors after stellar performances over the weekend to highlight the league's Big Sky Football Players of the Week, presented by Cloverdale Plumbing. Lucas Johnson (Montana) and Elijah Dotson (Northern Colorado) also collected weekly honors on offense and special teams to round out Monday's awards.
Offensive Player of the Week - Lucas Johnson (Montana)
Lucas Johnson led Montana to its highest scoring output of the season, as the redshirt senior earned his first Big Sky Football Offensive Player of the Week honors for 2022. Johnson was very efficient on the day, going 20-of-26 with 221 yards passing and two touchdowns while earning a score on the ground as well to round out his day. Johnson currently leads the Big Sky in total offense, after amassing 1,021 yards in four games.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week - Robby Hauck (Montana)/Armon Bailey (Sacramento State)
Montana's Robby Hauck was named Big Sky Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as the redshirt senior earned his second weekly honor of his career. Hauck posted seven stops against Portland State to bring his career total to 402 tackles and break the school record. Hauck also returned a missed field goal 100 yards for a touchdown to excite the home crowd before halftime and give Montana the 39-14 lead going into the locker room.
Sacramento State's Armon Bailey was named Big Sky Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Hornets to a 41-10 victory at FBS foe Colorado State. The 10 points scored by Colorado State was the lowest total allowed ever by Sacramento State against an FBS foe. Bailey had nine tackles on the day, with a pair of tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
Special Teams Player of the Week - Elijah Dotson (Northern Colorado)
Elijah Dotson was named the Big Sky Football Special Teams Player of the Week after leading Northern Colorado to a 35-14 win over Idaho State this past Saturday. Dotson finished the game with 208 all-purpose yards, with an 82-yard punt return touchdown and 102 yards rushing. Dotson became the first UNC player to return a punt for a score since 2015 and was the first Bears' running back since 2019 to rush over the century mark.
