Between the Big Sky’s Fall, Winter and Spring All-Academic Teams, 1,926 total student-athletes were honored with the designation during the course of the 2024-25 athletic calendar.
“The summer is always a good time to reflect on successes, and knowing we’ve honored nearly 2,000 student-athletes with an All-Academic Team spot throughout this year is certainly something to celebrate,” Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. “Congratulations to the most recent additions to this group for your commitment not only to your specific sport, but the classroom as well, and thank you to each of our campuses for putting these individuals in a position to succeed across both realms.”
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.
For Outdoor Track & Field student-athletes, they must have participated in at least half of the team’s competitions or competed at the Conference Championship. Softball pitchers can be considered for the award if they competed in at least 30 percent of their institution’s games.
Women’s outdoor track & field led the charge for biggest number of honorees, with 227 student-athletes from that respective sport earning the designation.
