FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 24, 2025) – The Big Sky Conference will announce weekly honors for softball, indoor track and field, women’s basketball, men’s basketball, tennis and women’s golf through the course of the week.

Big Sky Softball Player of the Week (February 24, 2025)

Player of the Week: Ava Brown, Idaho State (Jr., Mered, Calif.)
Junior outfielder Ava Brown helped lead the Bengals to a 4-0 record at the Lyman Classic this weekend in St. George, Utah. Brown hit . 400 on the weekend with 14 total bases, six RBIs and eight runs, Every single hit for the Bengal this weekend was for extra bases. Brown hit three homeruns on the weekend, and now leads the Big Sky Conference with six total homeruns in 2025. Brown finished the four-game weekend with a dominant 1.400 SLG%. Brown drew five walks on the weekend and stole one base. In centerfield, Brown also had four putouts.

Big Sky Softball Pitcher of the Week (February 24, 2025)

Pitcher of the Week: Kennedie Magorian, Sacramento State (Jr., Foresthill, Calif.)
Junior Kennedie Magorian helped the Hornets to a 2-1 record in a three-game series at Cal Poly over the weekend. In two appearances, she went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA, which included a three-hit shutout in the second game of the series on Saturday.
 
In 6.0 innings, the Foresthill, Calif., native allowed just three hits with no runs and five strikeouts. Mustang batters hit just .150 when Magorian was in the circle, and she was perfect in one inning of relief on Sunday.
 
In her shutout, the game was stopped after five innings because Sacramento State was leading, 12-0. She threw a perfect seventh inning in the Hornets’ 7-3 loss on Sunday.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week (February 25, 2025)

Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week: Sophie Glancey, Northern Arizona (F, Jr., Boise, Idaho)  
Helped Northern Arizona go 2-0 in a pair of road games at Idaho and Eastern Washington, earning the season sweep over both teams. 
 
Against Idaho, she scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds while leading the team with three assists and added a block. She shot 62.5 percent (5-8) from the field and was 3-for-3 at the free throw line. 
 
At Eastern Washington, she scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to go with a career-high six blocks. She shot 50 percent (10-20) from the field and three-point range (2-4) and was 3-for-4 at the free throw line and added three assists and a steal. 
 
On the weekend, she averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists and 3.5 blocks per game. She shot 53.6 percent (15-28) from the field, 50 percent (2-4) from three-point range, and 85.7 percent (6-7) at the free throw line.

Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week: Esmeralda Morales, Montana State (G, Sr., Spanaway, WA)  
Esmeralda Morales led Montana State to its school record 18th consecutive victory scoring 28 points, connecting on 8-of-15 from the field, 4-of-9 from beyond the arc and 8-8 at the line. Morales has also set a new MSU record currently on a 35 consecutive free throws made run. In addition, she added five assists and three steals, without committing a turnover in 27 minutes of action as MSU cruised to a 98-66 win over Montana to remain undefeated in Big Sky Conference action.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week (February 25, 2025)

Player of the Week: Dylan Darling, Idaho State (PG, RSo., Spokane, Wash.)
After leading his team to a 2-0 record over the weekend, Idaho State’s Dylan Darling has been named Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Across both games, Darling averaged 18.0 points per game, 9.5 assists per game, 6.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 steals per game against both Portland State and Sacramento State. Darling’s 13 assists against PSU were the highest single-game assist total in the Big Sky this season against a Division I opponent. In that game, he also had 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals. In conference games only, Darling is the Big Sky’s leading scorer with a 22.7 points per game average. This is Darling’s third Player of the Week title this season, all coming in the past four weeks.

Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week (February 26, 2025)

Player of the Week: Meg McCarty, Montana State (So., Bozeman, Mont.)
Montana State's Meg McCarty and doubles partner Jojo Bach upset the 29th-ranked duo of Andrea Beltran and Marley Lambert from Denver as the Bobcat pair recorded one of the best wins in program history for doubles action. McCarty was 3-1 overall on the weekend, playing at the No. 1 spot in doubles and No. 2 in singles action, with two of her wins coming against Air Force. The victory 4-3 for Montana State was its first in program history at Air Force. McCarty is 7-1 in singles play and 7-1 in doubles action this season and has won weekly honors twice for 2025.

Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week (February 27, 2025)

Player of the Week: Tristan Sarap, Weber State (Sr., San Diego, Calif.)
Weber State's Tristan Sarap went 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles action, as the Wildcats were a perfect 2-0 in conference play over the weekend. Sarap played at the No. 1 spot in singles and No. 3 position in doubles play. Sarap is now 6-2 in overall in singles play and 5-2 in doubles action on the year.

Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week (February 27, 2025)

Co-Golfer of the Week: Lauren Greeny, Montana State (Jr., Pullman, Wash.)
Winning a playoff to secure an individual championship at the GCU Women’s Invitational, Montana State’s Lauren Greeny has been named Co-Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week. Greeny defeated Grand Canyon’s Calynee Rosholt in a playoff to claim the title outright. For the event, Greeny shot a 6-under 210 (74, 70, 66). It's the second career victory for Greeny, who won the Eagle Invitational in September, and makes the junior just the fifth Bobcat in program history with multiple wins. Greeny shot 6-under par for the tournament, carding 74-70-66 (210) to win—the sixth-lowest 54-hole tournament score in school history. 
Co-Golfer of the Week: Caitlin Maurice, Sacramento State (Sr., Omokoroa, New Zealand)
Finishing runner-up in a stacked field at the 2025 Causeway Invitational, Sacramento State’s Caitlin Maruice has been named Co-Women’s Golfer of the Week. Maurice recorded a career 54-hole low with rounds of 69-68-70-207. Her total is tied for the second-best in school history and was just one stroke off the school 54-hole record. Maurice helped Sacramento State finish in second place in a tournament which had six other schools ranked among the top-100.
