FARMINGTON, Utah (Jan. 14, 2025) – With the first weekend on league play in the books, the Big Sky Conference has announced its weekly award winners for women’s and men’s basketball, as well as women's tennis who opened their season on Sunday.
Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 14, 2025)
Player of the Week: Esmeralda Morales, Montana State (G, Sr., Spanaway, Wash.)

Esmerelda Morales registered her first 30-point game of the season in the team’s biggest contest to date as the Bobcats defeated Northern Arizona in Flagstaff- a clash of the only two unbeaten teams in the Big Sky. This has resulted in her being named Big Sky Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. For the game, she went 9-of-17 from the field, 4-of-9 from long distance, and 8-of-9 from the line. In addition, Morales added five assists, five rebounds, and three steals in just over 35 minutes of play. For the weekend, she averaged 22.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 4.0 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 53.8% from the field, 42.9% from three-point range, and 78.6% at the line.

Big Sky Men's Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 14, 2024)
Player of the Week: Dyson Koehler, Weber State (F, Sr., Draper, Utah)
With a 21-point performance against a rival on the road, which resulted in Weber State’s first Big Sky win, Wildcat
Dyson Koehler has been named Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward was 7-of-11 from the field against Idaho State and 6-of-8 from 3-point range in the win. He was a perfect 5-of -5 from 3-point range in the first half and the six 3-pointers are tied for the most of his career. He also added five rebounds, two assists and a steal to his stat line. Koehler has scored in double figures seven times this year and is averaging a team-best 16.7 points per game in the three Big Sky games.

Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Jan. 15, 2025)
Player of the Week: Isabella Foshee, Eastern Washington (Sr., Encinitas, Calif.?)
Isabella Foshee led Eastern Washington to a season-opening win over UC Davis, as the senior nabbed weekly honors for the first time in her career. Foshee played at the No. 1 spot for singles and doubles, as she went 2-0 in the match to give the Eagles the 4-3 win.
