SPOKANE, Washington (July 21, 2024) – The Big Sky Conference Preseason Coaches’ and Media Polls have been released, and the Grizzlies of Montana have been tabbed the league favorites heading into the 2024 campaign.
The polls dropped today as part of the 2024 Big Sky Football Kickoff Weekend at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Spokane, Washington.
The Grizzlies, who received 26 first-place votes from the media and 10 from the league's head coaches, won the Big Sky title last season after a 7-1 mark in conference play. The Grizzlies return a roster that is looking to have another deep run in the FCS Playoffs after concluding last season as the national runner-up.
The media and coaches' polls were identical on the top half, with Montana, Montana State, Idaho, UC Davis and Sacramento State occupying spots 1-5. Montana State (9), Idaho (2) and UC Davis (1) received first-place votes by the media in addition to Montana's 26, while the Bobcats and Aggies split the only two first-place nods to not go the Grizzlies way.
Tune in on Monday at 9:00 a.m. PT, as the Big Sky's Meghan Robinson and Scripps Sports’ Kyle Hansen will co-host over four hours of live coverage from the Northern Quest Resort & Casino for the 2024 Big Sky Football Kickoff Weekend show. The live event, airing on ESPN+ and
select Scripps stations, will feature interviews with all 12 football teams, Commissioner Tom Wistrcill and special guests throughout the day.
