FARMINGTON, Utah (May 13, 2024) – The Big Sky Conference office has released its 2023-24 Winter All-Academic Team, highlighting those succeeding both in competition and in the classroom.
“Celebrating our All-Academic Teams are a solid reminder of what collegiate athletics is all about, accumulating life-long knowledge while performing to the best of your abilities on the playing surface,” Big Sky Conference Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. “Congratulations to our 500-plus student-athletes that are setting stellar examples for their campuses, and a huge shoutout to the 100-plus that are currently sitting with a perfect GPA’s for your commitment to academics while putting in so much time to your sport as well.”
In total, 511 student-athletes were eligible for the recognition, while 111 clocked in with 4.0’s to their name.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field had the most honorees, with 222 coming from that one sport.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.
For indoor track only: student-athlete may participate in at least half of the team’s competitions or the conference championship.
