FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 16, 2023) - Big Sky softball is officially underway as teams around the league will continue to face off against non-conference opponents. Below are news and notes from around the conference as we enter Week 2 of the season.

Idaho State’s Alyssa Yee Earns Player of the Week Honor
After her breakout performance during opening weekend, Idaho State’s Alyssa Yee earns her first career Big Sky Softball Player of the Week honor for the Bengals. In five games, Yee hit .533, which included the first two home runs of her career and the first triple of the season.
Idaho State’s Jordan Schuring Earns Pitcher of the Week Honor
After an impressive weekend in the circle, Idaho State’s Jordan Schuring was tabbed as Big Sky Softball Pitcher of the Week. Schuring pitched 12.2 innings in three appearances, tallying a 1.42 ERA. In the 12.2 innings pitched, the junior only allowed three runs, one extra base hit and struck out five batters.
Weber State’s Lauren Hoe Tops League with RBI
After the first weekend of play for Big Sky softball, Weber State’s Lauren Hoe leads the conference for total Runs Batted In as the Wildcat has a current total of six RBI so far this season.
Northern Colorado’s Erin Caviness Strikes Out Most Batters in Week One of Season
After a successful opening weekend for Northern Colorado, senior Erin Caviness has already recorded 20 strikeouts for the Bears this season.
2023 Big Sky Softball Tournament Returns to Ogden
The 2023 Big Sky Softball Tournament will be hosted and played on the campus of Weber State for the third-straight season as teams travel to Ogden, Utah on May 10-13, 2023.
