FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 16, 2023) – Portland State's Dante Chachere, along with the Montana duo of Ryder Meyer and Grant Glasgow, picked up Big Sky Football Player of the Week honors on Monday after an impressive weekend for the Vikings and Grizzlies this past Saturday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Dante Chachere (Portland State)
Portland State's Dante Chachere accounted for all six Viking touchdowns in their 45-21 win at Northern Arizona this past Saturday, as he claimed Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. Chachere completed 14-of-19 passes for 159 and five scores, while adding 83 yards and another touchdown on the ground against the Lumberjacks. Overall, Chachere has 11 total touchdowns against NAU in the last two seasons.
Defensive Player of the Week: Ryder Meyer (Montana)
Ryder Meyer led a Montana defense that forced three turnovers in its 23-21 win at No. 3 Idaho this past Saturday, as the redshirt junior won Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week honors. Meyer posted a team-high eight tackles, with one for a loss, and came up with a key interception in the endzone to keep Idaho from scoring early in the second half.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Grant Glasgow (Montana)
Grant Glasgow scored 11 of Montana's 23 points in its two-point victory over No. 3 Idaho this past Saturday, as the freshman earned Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Glasgow connected on all three of his field goals, which were all 40-plus yards out, and made both PATs against the Vandals. Glasgow also averaged 65 yards per kickoff, with all six of his attempts sailing into the endzone for a touchback.
