OGDEN, Utah (May 12, 2022) – Top-seeded Weber State and second-seeded Sacramento State each earned run-rule victories on Wednesday evening to set up Thursday's matchup in the winner's bracket between the two squads as Big Sky Softball Championship action continues in Ogden.
Wednesday's four games saw 44 runs scored overall and 11 home runs as the ball was live in Ogden for the opening day of action at Wildcat Softball Field.
Big Sky Player of the Year Maygen McGrath hit two of those 11 combined homers, as she led off both of Montana's games with a solo shot. The two homers came against two of the best pitchers in the league, as McGrath homered against Portland State's Olivia Grey and Sacramento State's, and Pitcher of the Year, Marissa Bertuccio.

The fifth-year senior hit a grand slam for the Wildcats in the bottom of the second inning to leave the host's home crowd in a frenzy.
