FARMINGTON, Utah (January 24, 2022) – Another very exciting weekend of #BigSkyMBB action is in the books, highlighted by the Wildcats of Weber State holding on to their spot on top of the Big Sky Standings and Northern Colorado staying put with just a single loss.
Below is a breakdown of all 11 team’s weeks, ordered by the current Big Sky Conference men’s basketball standings.
Weber State (14-5, 7-1 BSC)

Southern Utah Recap
Going 2-0 on the weekend with victories over Idaho State and Southern Utah, the Wildcats of Weber State held on to the top spot in the Big Sky standings at 7-1 in league play.
JJ Overton led the Wildcats against ISU with 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting. Against the Thunderbirds in Cedar City, WSU were paced by Seikou Sisoho Jawara’s 25 points.
Weber State’s lone loss this season came against Montana State on the road.

Eastern Washington
Securing one of the top spots in the Big Sky standings, the Bears of Northern Colorado went 2-0 on the weekend with victories over Idaho and Eastern Washington.
Bodie Hume paced the Bears against the Vandals, scoring 25 points. Against EWU, Daylen Kountz scoring 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting to push the Bears past the Eagles.

Going a perfect 2-0 on the weekend, the Bobcats of Montana State are now 6-2 in Big Sky play.
Xavier Bishop had a strong performance against NAU, playing all 40 minutes and scoring 26 points. He was also their leading scorer against the Vikings with 15 points.

Sweeping their road swing as well, the Grizzlies of Montana are 6-2 in league play.
Against PSU Josh Bannan finished with 22 points to pace the Griz. He also had 18 points against the Lumberjacks to lead the squad in scoring.

Splitting their weekend series, the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah knocked off Idaho State before falling to Weber State.
A trio of players all scored 17 points for SUU against the Bengals, as John Knight III, Tevian Jones and Jason Spurgin all hit the mark.

Securing a 2-1 record this weekend, Eastern Washington picked up victories over both Sacramento State and Idaho State.
Rylen Bergersen finished with 15 points against the Hornets, while Steele Venters had 21 points against the Bengals.

After dropping a pair of contests to start their weekend, the Lumberjacks bounced back on Monday evening with a 70-65 victory over the Hornets of Sacramento State.
Led by 36 points from Jalen Cone, NAU was able to secure their third Big Sky victory of the season at home. Cone shot 10-of-18 from the field.

After coming into the week seeking their first Big Sky victory, the Vandals of Idaho delivered and knocked off both Sacramento State and Portland State.
Trevante Anderson led the way for Idaho against SAC, dropping in 17 points. Against the Vikings, Mikey Dixon had an impressive outing with 27 points.
