FARMINGTON, Utah (Aug. 23, 2021) - The College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) announced its 2021 preseason watch list for the CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Trophy, with three from the Big Sky earning national honors.

Quarterbacks Eric Barriere of Eastern Washington and Hunter Rodrigues of UC Davis were named to the list on Monday, with running back Josh Davis of Weber State rounding out the trio.
For Barriere, the recognition adds to his long list of preseason honors ahead of the 2021 season as the quarterback has already been named to numerous preseason All-American lists in addition to his Big Sky Preseason MVP honors back in July.
The 2021 football season officially kicks off this weekend, as Southern Utah travels to San Jose State on Saturday, Aug. 28 for its Week 0 matchup with the Spartans. The contest will air on CBS Sports Network, with kickoff slated for 8 p.m. MT.
