#BigSkyMBB Recap: Week Six

Non-conference play continues with full-time league action set to begin at the end of December

FARMINGTON, Utah (December 20, 2021) – In what amounted to be a slower week of Big Sky Conference men's basketball action, all 11 teams continued to get in non-conference reps with full-time league play looming at the start of the new year. Teams are listed in order of the current #BigSkyMBB standings.   
 
Weber State (9-3, 2-0 BSC)

The Wildcats of Weber State went 0-2 this past week, as they played host to two in-state rivals. They fell to Utah State 95-80 on Wednesday before dropping their contest to BYU 89-71 on Saturday.
 
Southern Utah (7-4, 2-0 BSC)

In their lone contest of the week, Southern Utah dropped a contest to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor 87-50.
 
Northern Colorado (6-7, 2-0 BSC)

Playing on the road against a pair of Pac-12 teams, the Bears of Northern Colorado went 0-2 on the week. They lost to Arizona 101-76 on Wednesday before falling 82-56 to Washington State on Saturday.
 
Montana State (8-4, 1-1 BSC)

Amin Adamu knocked down a two-point jumper with under a second to play on Sunday afternoon, giving Montana State a 61-59 advantage and pushing them to a victory over the Portland Pilots at home. Tyler Patterson was the leading scorer for MSU in 21 minutes, dropping in 14 points.

The Grizzlies played a single contest this week, falling to Santa Clara 79-64 on Sunday on the road.
 
Northern Arizona (4-8, 1-1 BSC)

Playing on a neutral court in Phoenix, Northern Arizona fell to the University of San Diego on Saturday before traveling to Washington to play Gonzaga on Monday evening. Against a top-five Zags squad, NAU lost 95-49. 
 
Portland State (3-6, 1-1 BSC)

The Vikings played just one contest this week on the road, dropping a close one to CSUN 69-66.
 
Eastern Washington (6-5, 0-1 BSC)
Multnomah Recap
 
Led by 23 points from Angelo Allegri, the Eastern Washington Eagles knocked off Multnomah 95-56 on their home floor last Wednesday. The victory pushes them over the .500 mark.   
 
Idaho (3-8, 0-1 BSC)
SAGU AIC
 
Propelled by 16 points form Mikey Dixon, the Idaho Vandals knocked off SAGU American Indian College 84-55 on Saturday to earn their third win of the season.
 
Sacramento State (4-5, 0-2 BSC)
Menlo College Recap
 
Moving to 4-5 with the win, Sacramento State knocked off Menlo College 67-53 at home on Friday. Four Hornets scored in double-digits, led by Zach Chappell with 15. The Hornets were scheduled to play UC Riverside on Sunday, but the contest was canceled due to a COVID-19 issue withing the opposing team's program.
 
Idaho State (2-8, 0-2 BSC)

The Bengals of Idaho State earned their second victory of the year on Saturday as they knocked off Bethesda 103-68. Jared Rodriguez was the top player for ISU, dropping in 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting from behind the three-point line.
