Jake Vincent is a junior on the Southern Utah golf team. A native of Palm Desert, Calif., Vincent is majoring in Business and was a first team all-conference player in 2018.
What is the best thing about being a student-athlete?
Being a student athlete is an amazing privilege. The opportunity to get a degree while competing at the highest level is a blessing.
What’s been one of your favorite memories so far as an SUU golfer?
The ability to learn from the coaches and everyone involved with the SUU golf program has shaped me as a player. Being a part of the program is something I will always be proud of.
How did you get started playing golf?
My dad loves to play golf so I grew up watching him. When I was finally old enough start playing we played all the time.
What advice do you have for anyone wishing to pursue golf in college?
Being a college athlete takes an extreme amount of effort day in and day out. Between school and practice most of your day is taken up. Don’t forget to have fun, this experience only happens once.
What is your major and what do you plan to do with it?
I’m a Business major. After school I plan to keep working on my game and using the skills I learned from school to help me achieve my goals.
