Tyson Rodgers joined the Big Sky Conference as its Assistant Commissioner for Communications and External Relations in June of 2021. He was promoted to Associate Commissioner for Communications and External Relations in November of 2023.

Rodgers oversees all media relations for the 16-sport league, with his primary communications duties focused on football. In addition to his media relations duties, Rodgers also oversees all marketing efforts for the league. Outside of his Big Sky roles, Rodgers has supervised the production of "FCS ALL-IN" since 2021, which is a weekly show that promotes FCS football on ESPN+ during the fall season.

Since joining the Big Sky Conference, Rodgers has been instrumental in overhauling the league’s social media and content strategy. Under his guidance, the Big Sky Conference has ranked in the Top 10 of the 32 NCAA Division I conferences for combined engagements on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram generated each month. The Big Sky outgained multiple FBS conferences in 18 of the 19 months tracked, including a record-high ranking of third overall for August of 2022 with the conference only ranking behind the SEC and Big 12 for the month.

The biggest growth for the Big Sky’s social media presence has come on Twitter during Rodgers' tenure, with the @BigSkyConf account averaging nearly 30 million impressions per year. That number far outpaced previous years, with an average of three million impressions per year dating back to 2015.

Rodgers also spearheaded a campaign for ESPN's College GameDay to come to a Big Sky campus, with that effort being fufilled in Novemeber of 2022 when the legendary pregame show came to Bozeman, Montana for the Nov. 19 matchup between Montana State and Montana.

Rodgers comes to the Big Sky from Florida International University, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications for over three years. In that role, Rodgers was the Panthers’ chief spokesperson and responsible for the oversight of staff and budgets related to media relations, content creation, and video to publicize all 18 sports in an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision athletic department. In addition, Rodgers served as the primary contact for the FIU football, softball, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis programs.

Prior to FIU, Rodgers worked as an Assistant Director for Athletic Communications at the University of Northern Iowa, where he served as the primary communications contact for the Panthers’ FCS football program as well as its women’s basketball, track and field, and cross country teams. He also has experience at the United States Olympic Committee as well as Mississippi State University, from where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Science in Kinesiology.
