Whitmer oversees all aspects of planning, preparing, and executing for the conference’s 15 annual championship events. Specifically, she assists in coordinating all facets of the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships in Boise. Whitmer also provides daily support in various financial and operational capacities.

Whitmer joined the Big Sky staff by way of Idaho State University, where she worked multiple events for the Bengals, including helping host the 2024 Big Sky Softball Championships and the 2024 Big Sky Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Pocatello, as well as the past two Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships in Boise. Additionally, Whitmer served as the assistant meet director for the Simplot Games this past February in Pocatello. 
 
Outside of her experience in hosting championship events, Whitmer also created a startup business-to-business manual for her postgraduate class, focusing primarily on ticket sales for the football program which was utilized by the Idaho State Athletic Department. 

Whitmer is a former student-athlete from Montana State University Billings, having competed in cross country as well as track and field, specializing in distance events. She also earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic honors for three years while competing for the Yellowjackets.
 
A native of Pocatello, Idaho, Whitmer earned a Master of Arts degree in Athletic Administration from ISU in May after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from MSU Billings in 2023.
