FARMINGTON, Utah (Aug. 5, 2026) – In one week a new era of Big Sky soccer kicks off as the conference office announces the results of its Preseason Coaches' Poll with Weber State tabbed as the favorites. The Preseason All-Conference Team has also been released as Northern Arizona's Micala Boex headlines the team earning Preseason Most Valuable Player honors.
The Preseason Poll and Preseason All-Conference Team was voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, who could not vote for their own team or players.
Weber State earned the top spot in the poll after collecting five first-place votes and a league-leading 74 points, edging out Idaho, who compiled four first-place votes. In their first season in the Big Sky, Utah Tech received the final first-place vote in the poll, rounding out the top three.
Northern Arizona's Micala Boex headlines the Preseason All-Conference Team, earning Preseason MVP honors. Last season, Boex ranked top-five in the league in several offensive categories including goals, assists, points and shots. The Co-Offensive MVP from a season ago recorded eight multi-point games through the 2025 campaign.
The Wildcats have four members on the Preseason All-Conference Team, the most of any other school. Reigning Freshman of the Year Lauren Butorac and defender Isabella Sackett are among those four who played a crucial role in anchoring the Weber State defense to a championship appearance a season ago. Lily Blum and Oakley Anderson round out the four Wildcats and look to power the team on the offensive side of the ball.
The 2026 Big Sky Soccer Championship will be held November 11,13,15 at South Campus Stadium in Missoula Montana, with the top-six teams qualifying for the tournament.
The 2026 season officially gets underway on Wednesday, Aug.12, with six teams in action.
