FARMINGTON, Utah (Aug. 25, 2025) – The Big Sky Conference announced its Player of the Week honors, presented by JAMBAR, with soccer and football being the lone sports in action this past week.
Big Sky Football Players of the Week (Aug. 25, 2025)
Offensive Player of the Week: Dason Brooks, Idaho State (RB, R-Jr., Chandler, AZ)
Dason Brooks was a force against the UNLV Rebels Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas. The Bengal redshirt senior put on a show, carrying the ball for 132 yards on 18 carries, scoring two touchdowns, including a game-long 27-yard score. Brooks also grabbed six receptions for another 38 yards to add to his statline in the 38-31 loss at FBS foe UNLV.
Defensive Player of the Week: Rylan Leathers, Idaho State (S, R-Fr., Amarillo, TX)
Rylan Leathers led the Bengal defensive backs against the UNLV Rebels Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas. The Bengal safety finished the game with a career-best 12 total tackles (4 solo, 8 assists) including an open field, one-on-one tackle to force a three and out of the Rebels. Leathers also added on a tackle-for-loss in the 38-31 loss at FBS foe UNLV.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Trajan Sinatra, Idaho State (K, Jr., San Jose, CA)
Sophomore transfer Trajan Sinatra made a spark for the Bengals in his first appearance for Idaho State against the Rebels of UNLV. Sinatra scored the first points of the year for ISU on a made 26-yard field goal. Sinatra then followed it up with four made PATs, finishing the night 5-of-5 for his attempts, scoring seven points for the Bengals in the 38-31 loss at FBS foe UNLV.

Big Sky Soccer Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 26, 2025)
Offensive Player of the Week: Grace Kirby, Weber State (FWD, Sr., Ogden, UT.)
Kirby scored a goal in each of the two games for the Wildcats, including the one that sealed the match against CSU Bakersfield. The senior forward was very efficient with her work totaling 3 shots and 2 shots on goal on the week, connecting on both of her SOG for goals.
After a 2-0 weekend, the Wildcats are on their first 3-game winning streak since 2022.
Big Sky Soccer Defensive of the Week (Aug. 26, 2025)
Defensive Player of the Week: Izzy Palmatier, Sacramento State (GK, Jr., Folsom, CA.)
Palmatier helped the Hornets open the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff in Hawaii with a big win over Oregon out of the Big Ten Conference, making eight saves en route to a 1-0 win over the Ducks. Six of those stops came in the final 27 minutes of the second half as the Hornets scored in the 64th minute and held off Oregon for the win. The performance moved her into a tie for third on the school's all-time list with 13 shutouts, while her eight saves gave her 192 for her career – just four shy of a spot in the top five on the career chart.
