Big Sky's Mazich Receives Promotion to Associate Director of Communications

FARMINGTON, Utah (Aug. 21, 2025) – The Big Sky Conference has promoted staff member Lauren Mazich to Associate Director of Communications, Commissioner Tom Wistrcill announced today.

Mazich joined the Big Sky Conference staff in 2023 as an Assistant Director of Communications and has been instrumental in raising the league's national profile alongside the rest of the Big Sky communications team.

"Lauren has consistently gone above and beyond in her role, assisting our membership and demonstrating her dependability for the Big Sky,” Wistrcill said. "We are eager to see her take on greater responsibilities as an Associate Director and continue elevating our communications strategy and overall team."

A native of Hillsborough, New Jersey, Mazich came to the Big Sky from the University of Maryland, where she served as a communications assistant, covering women's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, and softball – the same four sports for which she serves as the primary sports information contact in the Big Sky.

A former Division I student-athlete herself, Mazich played soccer at High Point University in North Carolina. During her time as a Panther, she also interned in the athletic communications office for three years before stepping into a graduate assistant role, where she helped cover all 16 sports.
