Northern Arizona Sweeps All-Sports Trophies

This year marks the first season the Lumberjacks have swept the All-Sport Trophy since the 2020-21 athletic year. 

FARMINGTON, Utah (May 28, 2025) – After a successful athletic year, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks have been named the recipients of the Big Sky Conference Men's and Women's All-Sports Trophy, the league office announced on Wednesday.

NAU has won 19 All-Sports Trophy honors for its men's programs and 10 on the women's side, both league-leading marks. 

This year marks the first season the Lumberjacks have swept the All-Sport Trophy since the 2020-21 athletic year. 

Northern Arizona finished the athletic year with eight Big Sky trophies, completing the calendar sweep in track and field and cross country, as the men's and women's programs won conference titles in the six championships for the sport disciplines. The Lumberjacks also swept the regular-season titles in men's and women's tennis, as NAU posted perfect 8-0 conference records for each team.

NAU finished as a runner-up in women's basketball for the 2024-25 season, after the Lumberjacks went 16-2 in conference play. NAU capped off the year with a win in the WBIT, topping in-state foe Arizona in the tournament's first round. 

On the gridiron, NAU went 8-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play to finish fourth in the league standings, as the Lumberjacks earned their first FCS Playoff appearance since 2017. 

NAU also earned fourth-place finishes in soccer and women's golf, while posting seventh-place finishes in men's basketball and volleyball.

The Men's All-Sports Trophy standings are determined by a formula that takes into account each school’s regular-season finish or conference tournament/championship result for all conference-sponsored sports the institution offers. Basketball, football and tennis awards points based on regular-season finishes, while points for track & field, and cross country are awarded based on conference tournament/championship results. Indoor and outdoor track & field points are averaged to create one score for track & field.

The Women's All-Sports Trophy standings are determined by a formula that takes into account each school’s regular-season finish or conference tournament/championship result for all conference-sponsored sports the institution offers. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and tennis awards points based on regular-season finishes, while points for track & field, cross country and golf are awarded based on conference tournament/championship results. Indoor and outdoor track & field points are averaged to create one score for track & field.
