FARMINGTON, Utah (Nov. 19, 2024) – After leading UC Davis to a nine-win season, first-year head coach Tim Plough has been named the FCS Region 5 Coach of the Year, as announced by the American Football Coaches Association.
Plough, who took over at UC Davis following the 2023 season, has led the Aggies to a 9-2 record overall and 6-1 mark in Big Sky play in just his first season at the helm. Under Plough's watch, the Aggies have earned two Top 10 wins, after defeating Idaho and Montana earlier this season.
Plough and the Aggies will seek a 10-win season on Saturday, with No. 5 UC Davis traveling to Sacramento State for the Causeway Classic. The 10 wins would be the most in a season for UC Davis since 2018.
