NAU Wins Third Straight Big Sky Women's All-Sports Trophy

Lumberjacks win All-Sports Trophy for 11th time

FARMINGTON, Utah (June 8, 2023) – For the third straight season and 11th time in school history, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks have been named the recipients of the 2022-23 Big Sky Conference Women's All-Sports Trophy, the league office announced on Thursday.

The Women's All-Sports trophy win for Northern Arizona marks its 11th all-time, which is a conference record. The Lumberjacks have won the honor five of the last six years it has been awarded.

NAU won seven conference (two in soccer) championships amongst the eight women's sports it sponsors this past season. The cross country and track & field programs won three of those titles at conference championships, with basketball and tennis winning regular-season crowns and soccer sweeping a regular-season title and conference tournament championship this past fall.

The Women's All-Sports Trophy standings are determined by a formula that takes into account each school’s regular-season finish or conference tournament/championship result for all conference-sponsored sports the institution offers. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and tennis awards points based on regular-season finishes, while points for track & field, cross country and golf are awarded based on conference tournament/championship results. Indoor and outdoor track & field points are averaged to create one score for track & field.
