FARMINGTON, Utah (March 15, 2022) - The Big Sky Conference has a pair of women's basketball teams alive in postseason play this week, as Montana State competes in the NCAA Tournament and Idaho State plays in the WNIT.

• Montana State makes a return trip to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament after the Bobcats ran the table in Boise to capture the Big Sky tourney title over the weekend. The Bobcats defeated NAU 75-64 in last Friday’s championship matchup.
• Montana State was slotted as a No. 16 seed, with the Bobcats facing No. 1 seed and defending national champion Stanford on Friday, March 18. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. MT and the game will air on ESPN2.
• The NCAA berth marks Montana State’s first since 2017, with the Bobcats falling to Washington 91-63 in Seattle.
• The last win for the Big Sky in the NCAA Tournament came in 1995, with Montana knocking off San Diego State 57-46 before falling to Purdue in the second round. The Lady Griz have earned all three of the Big Sky’s wins at the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, coming in 1995, 1994 and 1992.
• Idaho State will also be continuing its postseason run on the hardwood, with the Bengals earning a spot in the WNIT thanks to winning the Big Sky regular-season crown. Idaho State (19-11) will travel to Wyoming (15-12) for the opening of the 2022 WNIT with tip-off slated for 6:30 p.m. MT on Thursday, March 17.
• The trip to the WNIT marks the second straight for Idaho State and the third in the last four years for the Bengals. The Cowgirls are 17-8 all-time in the WNIT, including winning the title in 2007.
