FARMINGTON, Utah (March 1, 2022) – After impressive back-to-back performances in a pair of wins, Montana’s Carmen Gfeller has been named ROAR Organic Big Sky Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Gfeller averaged 20.5 points on 65.0 percent shooting as Montana won two home games over teams sitting higher than them in the standings.
She went for seven points, four rebounds and two assists in Montana’s 71-46 win over Southern Utah on Thursday. In Saturday’s 71-57 win over Montana State that snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Bobcats, Gfeller scored a career-high 34 points on 11-of-16 shooting.
She went 5-of-7 from behind the arc, 7-of-8 from the free throw line and added eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Her 34 points were the second-most ever scored against Montana State by a Montana player.
