FARMINGTON, Utah (February 1, 2022) – Southern Utah's Darri Dotson has been named this week's ROAR Organic Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in two games against Portland State last week.
Dotson averaged a double-double across two games for the Thunderbirds with 18 points and 12.5 rebounds. She also combined to shoot 47 percent across the two-game span.
In Thursday's home matchup with the Vikings, the senior forward scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Dotson was instrumental down the stretch, which included dropping in the game-winning free throw with the score tied and less than a second on the clock. The T-Birds went on to win the first meeting 64-63.
On Monday night, Dotson went off again, this time in the form of 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Thunderbirds blew out Portland State on the Vikings' home floor. On Monday, Dotson had her best shooting game of the week and finished with a shooting percentage of 57 percent from the field.
Dotson tallied four blocked shots, three assists, and two steals across both games.
This season, Dotson becomes the second Southern Utah player to win #BigSkyWBB weekly honors.
