FARMINGTON, Utah (Dec. 11, 2022) - Montana State barely broke a sweat to advance to the FCS Playoff Semifinals for the second-straight year, while Sacramento State dropped a 66-63 contest in what was the game of the year in the FCS. BOZEMAN (Dec. 9, 2022) – No. 4 seeded Montana State proved it was worlds ahead of No. 5 seeded William & Mary on Friday night, as the Bobcats feasted on the Tribe, 55-7. Isaiah Ifanse led the way for Montana State in the box score, rushing for 162 yards and a pair of scores in just his second game of the year after missing the regular season due to injury. The Bobcats led 27-0 at halftime, before a 28-point third quarter which made the outcome painfully obvious for the visiting CAA Champions out of Virginia. Montana State travels to top-seeded South Dakota State on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2:00 p.m. MT, with a return trip to the FCS National Championship Game on the line for the Bobcats.
#7 Incarnate Word 66, #2 Sacramento State 63

SACRAMENTO (Dec. 9, 2022) – No. 2 seeded Sacramento State dropped a wild 66-63 contest to No. 7 Incarnate Word on Friday night, as the two squads put on a show in what turned out to be the game of the year in the FCS. Sacramento State pulled out all the stops on Friday night, recovering two onside kicks, gaining nearly 800 yards of offense and outscoring UIW 46-38 in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome their quarterfinal foes. The Hornets had a 63-59 lead with under a minute to play, before Walter Payton finalist Lindsey Scott led UIW down the field for his sixth touchdown of the game to put his squad up 66-63 with just 27 seconds remaining. The 129 combined points were the most in NCAA FCS Playoff history and the most in Sacramento State history.
