Thrilling weekend in the Big Sky

FARMINGTON, Utah (Nov. 13, 2022) - Sacramento State improved to 10-0, while UC Davis upset No. 15 Idaho to highlight an exciting Week 11 in the Big Sky. Below is a recap of every Big Sky football game from Week 11.

#2 Sacramento State 45, Portland State 17

HILLSBORO (Nov. 11, 2022) – Sacramento State improved to a school-record 10-0 following its 45-17 victory over Portland State on Friday night, as the Hornets continued their dominance with their 18th-straight Big Sky win. Pierre Williams caught two touchdown passes and racked up 136 receiving yards to pace the Hornet offense versus the Vikings.

GREELEY (Nov. 12, 2022) – Thanks to a 24-play, 96-yard scoring drive, Northern Colorado upended Northern Arizona 21-20 for its second Big Sky win of the season. Bears quarterback Dylan McCaffrey capped the game-winning drive with a 15-yard strike to Ty Arrington on 4th-and-goal with just 25 seconds left, before the Bears elected to go for two following the touchdown which they converted to capture the 21-20 win. McCaffrey finished the game with 195 yards passing and two touchdowns. 

#7 Weber State 45, Idaho State 7

OGDEN (Nov. 12, 2022) – Weber State had three strips sacks, two interceptions and a fumble returned for a touchdown as the Wildcats earned an impressive 45-7 victory over visiting Idaho State this past Saturday. The Wildcat offense, not to be outshined, totaled 455 yards, with 249 yards passing and 206 yards rushing, and had five touchdowns. The victory was Weber State's ninth straight against Idaho State and the 19th-straight win over the Bengals in Ogden.

#16 Montana 63, Eastern Washington 7

MISSOULA (Nov. 12, 2022) – Montana racked up over 600 yards of offense and totaled 337 yards on the ground, as the Griz earned a 63-7 victory over Eastern Washington. Nick Ostmo had another stellar performance, as he rushed for 146 yards, added 63 more yards receiving and scored four total touchdowns for the Griz to cap his day. The 56-point margin of victory was the most for Montana over EWU since 1995. 

UC Davis 44, #15 Idaho 26

MOSCOW (Nov. 12, 2022) – Ulonzo Gilliam rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns, as UC Davis upset 15th-ranked Idaho 44-26 on the road. The victory was the fifth straight for UC Davis, with each win featuring a 40-point outing for the Aggie offense. Rex Connors racked up 15 tackles on defense for UC Davis, earning his second game of the season with 15 or more tackles. 

#3 Montana State 72, Cal Poly 28

SAN LUIS OBISPO (Nov. 12, 2022) – Montana State scored its most points since a 77-point outing in 2014, as the Bobcats defeated Cal Poly 72-28 Saturday night in San Luis Obispo. Converted wide receiver Marqui Johnson rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns, becoming Montana State's third different rusher to earn over 200 yards on the ground this season. Johnson had touchdowns of 12, 71, 36 and 78 yards in the first half alone, earning an 18.6 yards per rush average for the game.
