FARMINGTON, Utah (January 10, 2022) – Despite a number of games being moved to later dates, there was a lot of strong #BigSkyMBB action across the league this week with several standout individual performances.
Below is a breakdown of all 11 team’s weeks, ordered by the current Big Sky Conference men’s basketball standings.

Weber State (10-5, 3-1 BSC)
The Wildcats did not play after their contest against Idaho State was postponed due to a COVID-19 issue within the Bengal program.
Southern Utah (9-5, 3-1 BSC)
The Thunderbirds did not play this weekend after their games against Portland State and Northern Arizona were postponed due to issues in the opposing team’s programs.
Northern Colorado (8-8, 3-1 BSC)
Sacramento State Recap
After starting the week at the top of the Big Sky Conference standings, the Bears of Northern Colorado suffered their first league loss on Saturday against Sacramento State. Despite the loss, Daylen Kountz had a solid effort with 25 points of 10-of-17 shooting from the field.

Securing a perfect week, the Montana State Bobcats went 2-0 with victories over Idaho and Montana. Xavier Bishop had a massive contest against the Vandals, finishing with 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and hitting 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. In the ‘Brawl of the Wild’, four Bobcats finished in double-digit scoring led by Amin Adamu who dropped 19 points on the Griz.
Montana (11-6, 4-2 BSC)

Montana State Recap
Finishing the week 1-1, the Grizzlies of Montana knocked off Eastern Washington before falling to Montana State. Against the Eagles, both Robby Beasley and Brandon Whitney finished with 19 points. Josh Bannan had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Eastern Washington (9-7, 3-2 BSC)

Idaho Recap
Splitting their contests this weekend, the Eagles of Eastern Washington moved to 3-2 in Big Sky play after losing to Montana and knocking off Idaho. Against the Vandals, Steele Venters had a really strong performance with 25 points all while knocking down five triples. The Eagles shot 68 percent from the field in the second half against UI.
Northern Arizona (5-9, 1-2 BSC)

Playing against Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, the Lumberjacks of NAU had a 101-54 victory behind a triple-double from Carson Towt. Towt became only the 10
th player in the NCAA this season to secure that stat line.
Due to a COVID-19 issue within the program, Northern Arizona did not compete in their league competition this weekend.
Portland State (3-8, 1-2 BSC)
Due to a COVID-19 issue within the program, Portland State was unable to compete in their games this weekend.
Sacramento State (5-6, 1-3 BSC)
Northern Colorado Recap
Picking up their first Big Sky Conference victory, the Hornets of Sacramento State knocked off Northern Colorado and handed the Bears their first loss in league play. Bryce Fowler had a special outing for the Hornets, finishing with 30 points and shooting 11-of-16 from the field. In 37 minutes, he also went 8-of-10 from the free throw line and pulled down seven rebounds.
Idaho (3-10, 0-3 BSC)

Eastern Washington Recap
The Vandals of Idaho fell to 0-3 in Big Sky play with losses to both Montana State and Eastern Washington. Mikey Dixon had an impressive weekend, scoring 24 points against the Bobcats and 25 against the Eagles.
Idaho State (2-11, 0-4 BSC)
Due to a COVID-19 issue within the program, Idaho State had to postpone its Saturday contest against Idaho State.
