SPOKANE, Washington (July 23, 2021) - The 2021 Big Sky Football Kickoff will be held on July 24-26 in Spokane, Washington and aired live on ESPN+, as coaches, student-athletes and fans alike are eager for football to finally return to their fall Saturday schedules.
The Davenport Grand Hotel will host this weekend's events, as all 13 teams will be in attendance for the Kickoff. Last year's event was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the annual Big Sky Kickoff returns to Spokane for 2021.
Student-athletes will take part in a youth football clinic, which is open to all children eighth-grade or younger. Those interested can email Jon Kasper (jkasper@bigskyconf.com) for more information. Sunday will feature a jam-packed day filled with video interviews and meetings, followed by a dinner that evening where the league's Preseason Outstanding Offensive and Defensive Players will be announced.
Monday will feature more than five hours of live coverage from the Davenport Grand Hotel beginning at 9 a.m. PT on ESPN+, with the Big Sky's Mariluz Cook set to interview two student-athletes and the head coach from all 13 football teams as well as Commissioner Tom Wistrcill. The broadcast will be the first for the Big Sky on ESPN+ following the league's landmark deal with the Worldwide Leader in Sports that was announced back in June.
