Big Sky Conference Announces 2021-22 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

FARMINGTON, Utah (July 19, 2021) – The Big Sky Conference announced its 2021-2022 Women’s Basketball schedule on Monday, returning to its original format of 20 games.
 
The schedule will go back to playing games on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays and will span 11 weeks before finishing on Friday, March 4, leading up to the Big Sky Championship in Boise, Idaho.  The basketball championship is scheduled for March 7-11, 2022.
 
All 11 Big Sky teams will compete in a double round-robin schedule, with Southern Utah serving as the lone wolf.  Northern Arizona will be paired up with Portland State as travel partners, and Northern Colorado will be paired up with Sacramento State.  The Vikings served as the lone wolf in 2019-20.
 
The opening weekend for the season will be Thursday, December 2, and Saturday, December 4, with five games scheduled for each day.  Eastern Washington and Idaho will be the only teams to play a single game on the opening weekend.
 
After a brief hiatus through the majority of December as teams finish their non-conference schedules, the Big Sky season will resume over the New Year’s holiday on December 30 and January 1.
 
The Big Sky Basketball Championship will be the culminating event of the season. The neutral-site tournament will be held at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho, for the fourth consecutive year.  The neutral-site tournaments began in 2016 when the Big Sky hosted the event in Reno, Nevada, for three years.
