Lester Joins Big Sky Staff
FARMINGTON, Utah (March 5, 2021) – Big Sky Conference Commissioner Tom Wistrcill has announced the hiring of Bryson Lester as the Director of Communications.
Lester joins the Big Sky Conference after working at conference member institution Southern Utah since 2015. In his role as the Assistant AD for Communication/Marketing, Lester oversaw the media and fan engagement initiatives for all 15 teams. With a background in video production and social media, Lester brings a wealth of experience in digital media.
“A major point of emphasis for our communications team is to tell the stories about our talented student-athletes, coaches, and athletic departments in new and compelling ways,” Wistrcill said. “Bryson has a proven track record of having done just that at a Big Sky school. When you factor in his intimate knowledge of our conference with the opportunity to move closer to family, we feel this truly is a great fit for both him and us.”
While with the Thunderbirds, Lester was the primary contact for the football, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s golf. Lester helped garner regional and national coverage for the Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs and the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament.
A native of Centerville, Utah, Lester graduated from Southern Utah in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in media studies and then his master’s degree in professional communication in 2020.
