FARMINGTON, Utah (March 30, 2021) – Rylin Adams and the Weber State volleyball team highlighted the #BigSkyVB All-Conference team released Tuesday by the conference office.  The leagues’ coaches select the all-conference team.

Adams was selected as the Most Valuable Player and a first-team all-conference selection this year after leading Weber State and the Big Sky offensively.  The senior outside hitter led a Wildcats team that led the Big Sky in three offensive categories.  The Wildcats were at the top of the conference in hitting percentage (.237), kills (792), and assists (735).

Adams averaged 4.32 kills per set this season which was good enough for the top spot among all-conference players.  She finished the season with a .228 hitting percentage and averaged 0.5 blocks and 2.5 digs per set.

Joining Adams on the first team are teammates Dani Nay, Sam Schiess, and Ashlyn Power.  Both Power and Nay are two-time first-team selections.

Power led the Big Sky in assists (10.53/set), while Schiess ranked second in hitting percentage (.367).

Northern Colorado had four players earn all-conference honors this season.  Taylor Muff and Daisy Schultz earned their second consecutive first-team All-Big Sky selections and were joined by Lauren Hinrichs, a second-team selection a season ago.

Also receiving all-conference honors this year for the Bears and earning recognition as the Top Newcomer of the Year is Rachel Hickman.  The sophomore transfer from Kansas was fifth in the conference with a .308 hitting percentage and eighth in kills with a 2.95 per set average.

Portland State’s Ellie Snook was tabbed as the Libero of the Year and was also a second-team All-Big Sky selection.  Snook was ranked second this season in digs with 5.07 digs per set.

Sacramento State’s Bridgette Smith was named the Freshman of the Year and named to the all-conference second team.  Smith finished the season ranked seventh in kills with a 3.08 kills per set average, which led the Hornets.  The outside hitter also averaged 0.30 service aces, 2.43 digs, and 0.27 blocks per set this season.

Two other teams placed two players on the all-conference first team with their performances this season.  Montana State’s Kira Thomsen and Emma Pence both received their first All-Big Sky honors.  Northern Arizona’s Taylor Jacobsen and Heaven Harris each received a spot on the first-team, with Harris earning the second first-team nod of her career.

Idaho’s Kennedy Warren took the final spot on the All-Big Sky first team, which is the first of her career.
