NAU's Khiarica Rasheed Named #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week
FARMINGTON, Utah (February 8, 2021) – Northern Arizona's senior forward Khiarica Rasheed was named the #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week for her performance against Sacramento State.
Rasheed averaged 18.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a steal in two games. She was the only player this week in the Big Sky to record two double-doubles. Rasheed also shot 67 percent from the field, going 18-of-27.
On Thursday, Rasheed's 17 points and 13 rebounds helped keep NAU close early on before the Lumberjacks closed the victory with a dominant second half.
On Saturday, Rasheed hit two go-ahead baskets in the final 20 seconds, including the game-winner with 1.3 seconds left on the clock, and finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
This is the first time this season that Rasheed has earned weekly honors and the second time this season that a member of the NAU squad has gotten the nod.
