WSU's Jawara Collects #BigSkyMBB Weekly Honor

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 8, 2021) – Weber State sophomore Seikou Sisoho Jawara averaged 21 points and shot 72 percent from the field in the Wildcats’ two wins over Montana State last week to earn his first Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.
 
Coming into Thursday’s match-up in Ogden, Montana State was riding a seven-game win streak on top of the Big Sky standings with a 6-0 record in conference play. Jawara’s impressive performance helped lead Weber State to a home conference sweep over the Bobcats.
 
Over two games for the Wildcats last week, Jawara averaged 21 points shooting 72 percent overall, 86 percent from three-point range, and 100 percent from the free throw line.
 
In Thursday’s win, Jawara scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and added two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. He went on to score a career-high 25 points and had four assists and three rebounds on Saturday. He was 7-of-9 from the field, including 5-of-6 from the three-point line, to lead Weber State. Jawara was perfect from the free throw line in both games shooting 4-of-4 on Thursday and 6-of-6 on Saturday.
 
He is the first Wildcat to earn the honor since Jerrick Harding on Feb. 11, 2020.
