Idaho’s Bea Garners #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 22, 2021) – Idaho sophomore Beyonce Bea has been named the #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this past week in a two-game series against Portland State. 

Bea averaged 22 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 blocks, and 1.0 steal in a pair of victories over the Vikings while shooting 53 percent from the floor.

In game one, Bea added 20 points and eight rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the field. She had three blocks in the game while also recording one assist and one steal.

The sophomore recorded a career-high 15 rebounds in game two on Saturday and scored 24 points for her fourth double-double of the season. She also dished out a season-high six assists and totaled three blocks and one steal in the game. Bea shot 52.6 percent from the field and converted the game-tying free-throw to force OT, in which the Vandals went on to win 75-64.

On the season, Bea is ranked second in points (16.5), sixth in rebounding (7.8), and fifth in blocked shots (1.2) per game.

This is the second time this season that Bea has been honored as the women’s basketball player of the week and the fourth time this season a member of the Vandals has earned this award.
