FARMINGTON, Utah (December 7, 2021) – Montana State sophomore guard Leia Beattie has been named this week's ROAR Organic Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference office.
Beattie helped lead the Bobcats to a 2-0 start in conference play. The Midland, Texas native averaged 14.5 points, six rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game this week. Beattie shot 47.1 percent from the field, including 60 percent from the three-point line. From the charity stripe, Beattie was 7-of-10 through two games.
In Thursday's game against Northern Colorado, Beattie scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds, and shot 44 percent, including 50 percent from the three-point line.
In Montana State's win over Sacramento State on Saturday, Beattie recorded a career-high 18 points and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds. For the game, she shot 50% from the floor, 75% from beyond the arc, and went 7-of-10 at the line.
