FARMINGTON, Utah (December 21, 2021) – After another stellar week on the court, Montana's Carmen Gfeller has been named the ROAR Organic Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Gfeller helped the Lady Griz to a 2-0 record and averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the field, which included a 43 percent mark behind the three-point line.
In Thursday's matchup with Seattle, Gfeller had her best performance of the week. She scored 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. The Colfax, Wash. native grabbed four rebounds and had one assist.
Against Utah State on Monday night, Gfeller scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 103-80 rout of the Aggies. Gfeller shot 4-of-9 from the field for a 44 percent shooting percentage.
Gfeller currently ranks fourth in the conference in scoring with 15 points per game.
This is the second time this season that Gfeller has won this award and the third honor going to a player from Montana.
