FARMINGTON, Utah (December 14, 2021) – Montana State's Kola Bad Bear has been named this week's ROAR Organic Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance and helping the Bobcats go 2-0.
The 6-2 forward from Billings averaged a double-double at 19 points and 10.5 rebounds per game for the weekend.
Last week, Bad Bear paced the Bobcats to a pair of home victories, running Montana State's current win streak to a Big Sky Conference-best five games. In addition, she shot an impressive 62 percent from the field and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
Bad Bear recorded a career-best 21 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in the Bobcats' win over MSU Billings. Bad Bear was 6-of-11 from the field for a 50 percent shooting percentage. Thirteen of her rebounds came on the offensive glass.
In Montana State's win over Utah Valley - the first Big Sky school to notch a win over the Wolverines as Montana, Southern Utah, and Portland State all fell to UVU - Bad Bear recorded a team-high 17 points on seven-of-10 from the field, including one 3-pointer, and a pair of free throws. She also pulled down four boards and had an assist and a steal in the victory.
Bad Bear is the second player from Montana State to earn this award.
