FARMINGTON, Utah (November 30, 2021) – Montana's Sophia Stiles has been named the ROAR Organic #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week after helping the Lady Griz to a 2-0 record with victories over Houston Baptist and Nicholls State.
Stiles, a redshirt senior from Malta, Mont., averaged 13.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.5 assists as Montana won twice at the Grand Canyon Women's Basketball Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.
In a 59-56 overtime win over Houston Baptist on Friday, Stiles had eight points, 10 rebounds, and four assists while playing more than 42 minutes as the Lady Griz rallied from a six-point fourth-quarter deficit.
Against Nicholls State on Saturday, Stiles had 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, 10 rebounds, and seven assists in the 80-45 victory. Stiles's double-double performance is the third for her career. She also went 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
In the two games, Stiles shot 12-of-26 from the field for a .462 shooting percentage. She also went 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
