SAC State's Tillman Named #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (November 16, 2021) – Sacramento State's Lianna Tillman has been named the #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week for her play in the Hornet's games against Cal and San Jose State.

Tillman was spectacular in her first two games with Sacramento State, averaging a league-leading 23 points as the Hornets opened the year 1-1.

The Stockton, Calif. native exploded in her debut at Cal, scoring a career-high 27 points on 10-for-24 shooting, setting additional career marks in both makes and attempts. She was 4-for-10 from three and added a team-leading three steals and four assists. In addition, she played a team-high 39+ minutes.

The graduate point guard followed that up with another excellent performance in Sacramento State's thrilling come-from-behind win over San Jose State at home, scoring 19 points while dishing out a game-high five assists.

She played a full 40 minutes in the win and scored seven of her 19 points to fuel the Hornets' comeback in the fourth quarter.

Through two games, Tillman leads the Big Sky in scoring with 23 points and in minutes with 39.5. Tillman also leads the conference in assists with 4.5 per game.
