EWU's Groves Named #BigSkyMBB Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 1, 2021) – Eastern Washington junior Tanner Groves earned his second Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season after recording his third straight double-double last week.
 
Groves led the Eagles in their Sunday win over Sacramento State with 23 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, two assists, and one block. He shot 9-of-16 from the field including 3-of-7 from three-point range.
 
The first half set the tone for Eastern Washington and Groves was instrumental to the Eagles’ success. He hit a double-double just in the first half scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 boards. All three of his makes from deep came at the end of the first half amid an 18-1 run for the Eagles.
 
Groves now has five double-doubles this season and six in his career.
