FARMINGTON, Utah (January 4, 2021) – Northern Arizona junior guard Cameron Shelton scored a career-high 30 points and posted an impressive stat line through three games to earn his first Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.

Over the three games for the Lumberjacks last week, Shelton averaged 24.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists and shot 42.9 percent from the field, 45.5 percent from three-point range, and 84 percent from the free throw line.

Northern Arizona opened the week with a road game at #1 Gonzaga. Shelton led the Lumberjacks in their loss against the Bulldogs with a near double-double posting 20 points and a career-high nine rebounds.

In a conference sweep of Idaho last week, Shelton helped lead his team to victory with two strong road performances. He posted 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists on Thursday’s 78-65 win followed by 30 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals on Saturday in the 83-78 overtime win.

He is the first Lumberjack to earn Big Sky weekly honors since Bernie Andre on Feb. 26, 2019.
