MSU's Belo Earns #BigSkyMBB Weekly Honors
FARMINGTON, Utah (January 18, 2021) – Montana State junior forward Jubrile Belo recorded two consecutive double-doubles in victories over Portland State to be named the Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time in his career.
Belo played a big role for the Bobcats in their home sweep over the Vikings last week. Over the course of two games in Bozeman, Belo shot 7-of-9 from the field, 11-of-16 from the free throw line, had three steals, and four assists.
In Montana State’s 71-64 victory on Thursday, Belo posted his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The second half was the deciding factor for the Bobcats and Belo proved to be the difference blocking a season-high four shots in the second half alone.
Another close game between the Bobcats and Vikings on Saturday resulted in a 69-64 win for Montana State led by Belo’s second consecutive double-double. He scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.
With the conference sweep over Portland State, Montana State remains undefeated in league play with a 4-0 record.
