Peatling Headlines #BigSkyMBB All-Conference Team
BOISE, Idaho (March 10, 2020) – For the third time in the last four seasons Eastern Washington took top honors as senior forward Mason Peatling was named the Big Sky Most Valuable Player, and headlined the 2019-20 all-conference team as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Peatling became the first Big Sky player in three seasons to average a double-double in conference play with 18.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. The Melbourne, Australia native was sixth with 3.8 assists per game while ranking third with 1.7 blocks and a 56.3 shooting percentage during league play.
Montana senior guard Sayeed Pridgett and Northern Colorado senior guard Jonah Radebaugh joined Peatling as unanimous first team honorees with Pridgett earning a second-straight first team nod.
Pridgett averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists against Big Sky opponents while shooting 51.1 percent from the field. Radebaugh led the Big Sky with 7.4 assists per game in league play while sporting a conference-best 3.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also added 16.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game on 51 percent shooting.
Montana State senior guard Harald Frey and Portland State junior guard Holland Woods rounded out the first team. The duo was also among the league’s assists leaders with Frey averaging 4.1 and Woods 5.1 in Big Sky play. Woods led the league with 2.2 steals while adding 17.8 points to Frey’s 16.2 points per game.
Radebaugh became the first player in league history to capture three Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year honors since the award was established during the 2001-02 season. He is just the third player to earn the accolade back-to-back years, the first since Montana’s Will Cherry in 2013.
Northern Colorado senior forward Kai Edwards was named the Big Sky Top Reserve, averaging 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while coming off the bench for the Bears. Edwards is the first UNC player to earn the accolade.
Montana State sophomore forward Jubrile Belo collected Big Sky Newcomer of the Year honors to become just the second Bobcat to earn the award following Damir Latovic in 2001-02. Belo ranked second for the Bobcats in scoring during conference play behind Frey with 14.2 points while leading MSU with 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
Montana forward Derrick Carter-Hollinger garnered Big Sky Freshman of the Year accolades, the first Grizzly since Cameron Rundles in 2006-07 and fourth overall to earn the award. Carter-Hollinger averaged 6.7 points and 5.1 rebounds on 60 percent shooting in conference play.
The All-Big Sky Second Team was comprised of Eastern Washington’s Jacob Davison, Weber State’s Jerrick Harding, Montana’s Kendal Manuel, Idaho’s Trevon Allen and Northern Colorado’s Bodie Hume. The third team consisted of Belo, Sacramento State’s Joshua Patton, Eastern Washington’s Kim Aiken Jr., and Northern Arizona’s Cameron Shelton and Brooks DeBisschop.
Honorable mention accolades went to Northern Arizona’s Bernie Andre, Southern Utah’s Cameron Oluyitan, Portland State’s Sal Nuhu, Weber State’s Cody John and Sacramento State’s Izayah Mauriohooho-Le’afa.
