Southern Utah’s Yongyuan Picks Up Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 26, 2020) – Southern Utah’s Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan has been named the Big Sky Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
Yongyuan, a sophomore for the Thunderbirds, was the standout for Southern Utah at the 2020 Grand Canyon University Spring Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. after shooting a 2-under score of 142 (70, 72) to take 4
th place. Yongyuan has placed in the top-10 at every event the Thunderbirds have competed at this season and has finished in the top-five in all but one tournament.
It is the third weekly honor of the season for the reigning Freshman of the Year and an impressive eighth of her career.
Next up for Southern Utah is the BYU @ Entrada Classic from Mar. 9-10 in St. George, Utah.
